Position: Senior Consultant Ecologist
Location: Near Norwich or Southampton
Reports to: Principal Ecologist/Director

Role Overview: As a Senior Consultant Ecologist at enims, you will lead and manage ecological projects, providing expert advice and guidance to a variety of clients. You will be responsible for conducting ecological surveys, assessments, and reporting, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practices. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to mentor junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ecological Surveys: Conduct and oversee a range of ecological surveys, including habitat assessments, protected species surveys, and biodiversity monitoring.

  • Reporting: Prepare high-quality ecological reports, impact assessments, and mitigation plans in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Client Liaison: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing expert advice and ensuring their needs are met.

  • Team Leadership: Mentor and support junior ecologists, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.

  • Compliance: Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices.

  • Alongside our dedicated business Project Manager,  lead and manage ecological projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.

  • Business Development: Contribute to business development activities, including preparing proposals and identifying new opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: Ideally a Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field but not always necessary - proven experience and enthusiasm is more important to us!

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in ecological consultancy, with a proven track record of managing complex projects.

  • Skills:

    • Strong project management and organizational skills.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Proficiency in ecological survey techniques and data analysis.

    • Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
