Position: Senior Consultant Ecologist
Location: Near Norwich or Southampton
Reports to: Principal Ecologist/Director
Role Overview: As a Senior Consultant Ecologist at enims, you will lead and manage ecological projects, providing expert advice and guidance to a variety of clients. You will be responsible for conducting ecological surveys, assessments, and reporting, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practices. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to mentor junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:

Ecological Surveys: Conduct and oversee a range of ecological surveys, including habitat assessments, protected species surveys, and biodiversity monitoring.

Reporting: Prepare high-quality ecological reports, impact assessments, and mitigation plans in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Client Liaison: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing expert advice and ensuring their needs are met.

Team Leadership: Mentor and support junior ecologists, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Compliance: Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices.

Alongside our dedicated business Project Manager, lead and manage ecological projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.

Business Development: Contribute to business development activities, including preparing proposals and identifying new opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience:

Education: Ideally a Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field but not always necessary - proven experience and enthusiasm is more important to us!

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in ecological consultancy, with a proven track record of managing complex projects.

Strong project management and organizational skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in ecological survey techniques and data analysis.
